My name is Lori, I'm 55 years old and a totally solo operation. I retired honorably from the USAF after 20 years in Nov, 2010. My career field was the "Force Support Squadron" specializing in all support functions for peacetime and wartime but primarily Food service, Lodging, fitness and recreation and Mortuary affairs (3MO71). Since retirement, I have been working as head of chaos in my little slice of heaven in central Arkansas.
I have always had dogs, mostly strays dropped at my house at the end of my dead-end road, but years ago I took in a serious, vibrant, and amazing 12-year-old long-haired German Shepherd Dog. I had her for 14 months before she passed, and she solidified my absolute respect, admiration and love for the breed. Under-educated, I then bought a $500 eight-month-old, unbeknownst to me, fear-biter from a local "trainer". It was an exhausting and unenjoyable six years of keeping him safe from himself before he died from auto-immune disease (secondary to cancer). I learned BIG lessons and the value of a stable temperament. I educated myself before getting another shepherd and with the help of a mentor and after speaking to the seller in depth, I chose and imported Vlippi vom Grafental.
Vlippi arrived with the confidence, temperament, health, handler softness and forgiveness, thinking ability and courage that were so important to me. She proved to be an easy whelper with her first litter ever having 10 healthy puppies in less than twelve hours.
In 2021, one awakening, and one divorce later I moved myself, Vlippi and two of her A-litter; Abbi (intact) and Axel (neutered) to Arkansas where repeat B-litter Singleton boy (Brayve Rayjn) was born in Jan 2022.
I don't overextend myself with too many dogs (I have 6), and I don't believe in shortcuts. If done right, there is more work and expense than there is profit in dog breeding unless you have a large dependable team and sell a LOT of dogs. My kennels are clean, comfortable and safe and are maintained for the health and happiness of my dogs. I despise irresponsible breeders/hoarders and the ignorant people who support them. I don't sell dogs to macho-mentality, know-it-all's or to those who simply collect dogs. I sell very few Full registrations; I produce for the joy and people the pups bring to my life and the experiences I get to have with them. I enjoy the interaction, the confidence building and watching the discovery these pups make as they grow. I know all the nooks and crannies of each one's unique little personalities. I spend LOTS of time with each one, for at least eight weeks and I find myself dreaming about their future potential and what they can offer to our communities based off their individual strengths. I want homes for my dogs that will love them as much as I do.
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to talk with you but please keep in mind that I stay busy every day, all day long with dogs, chores and other responsibilities so I appreciate your patience and encourage a text prior to calling.
With that being said...
We should all work hard so our dogs have a BETTER life...
Happy trails and wagging tails!
Guess what? I believe in Early Neurological Stimulation and use it as a part of my puppy rearing program.
